Hello CMS Families,

I hope you and our future Young Knights are enjoying a great start to your summer.

Progress at the school has been amazing (look at the photos below)! We are excited to welcome our students and staff as they begin learning in the new buildings in August while the old buildings are renovated.

Updates Shared at School Board Meeting Last Night
Last night during the Board meeting, I shared a number of updates about drop-off/pick-up routines and other practical matters. (These are the same updates we shared at family meetings this spring.) You can also watch the presentation on Cville Schools Facebook or review the slides here.)

Save the Date: Young Knights Kickoff: August 11, 9:45 AM -12:45 PM
Last night, I also shared that we are excited to host our Young Knight Kickoff on Monday, August 11th, from 9:45 AM to 12:45 PM. Due to ongoing construction and limited parking availability, we are unable to welcome families to campus during that time as we traditionally have. This event is for our Young Knights only so they have the opportunity to meet their teachers and other CMS staff before the first day. This early interaction—and a first look at their new school—will help ease the transition and build comfort and confidence in their new environment.

Back to School Nights for Families
To ensure families are still part of the back-to-school experience, each team will host a “Back to School Night” starting as early as August 20th. These events will give families the chance to meet teachers and explore the new building. Encore teachers and additional staff will coordinate schedules so a representative from each department is available to meet with families. We’ll share the full schedule later this summer.
