Buford Athletics and Activities

Football fieldExtra-curricular activities are an important part of student life at Buford. Students are encouraged to develop skills and explore interests through sports, clubs, tutoring and music programs.  An after-school activities bus provides transportation to students who choose to stay for athletics, clubs, tutoring, or more.

Buford offers team sports for baseball, basketball, cheerleading, fencing (club sport), football, softball, step, swimming, tennis (club sport), track, wrestling, and volleyball. Eighth-grade students may participate in junior varsity sports at CHS.

Major emphasis is devoted to sportsmanship, healthy competition, and becoming a positive team player.

Visit our Buford Middle School Athletics web page for more information, including our events calendar.

  • Athlete Academic Requirements

    • In order to participate on a team, students must complete a daily session of the Academic Power Hour (which provides tutorial services and assistance with homework), maintain positive behavior, and satisfy all academic requirements.
    • Each student is required to submit a weekly progress report which reports students’ academic and behavior progress during the week. Most students do better academically and behaviorally during the season than outside of their season.
